Prof. Dr. Axel Klar

Axel Klar is heading the research group numerical methods and scientific computing at the University of Kaiserslautern. His scientific interests cover the research areas numerical methods for partial differential equations, modeling and optimization with applications in fluid dynamics, radiative heat transfer, traffic flow networks and semiconductors. His scientific work covers more than 80 refereed publications. He is Co-editor of several journals in Numerical analysis and Scientific computing. He had Guest Professorships at the University of Toulouse and the University of Kyoto and is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Fraunhofer ITWM, Kaiserslautern.
