Prof. Dr. Jens B. Schmitt

Since 2003 Jens Schmitt is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the TU Kaiserslautern. He is heading the distributed computer systems lab (DISCO). Previously, he was leading a research group on Multimedia Distribution & Networking in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering & Information Technology at the TU Darmstadt. His research interests are in performance modeling of distributed systems, provisioning of network QoS, modeling of wireless sensor networks, and self-organization and self-protection in wireless networks. He has published over 100 refereed articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings in these areas.
