Arnd Poetzsch-Heffter is heading the Software Technology Group at the University of Kaiserslautern. The main research interests of the group are in object-oriented programming, language-based software tools, component technology and automated composition, as well as in specification and verification techniques for programs and components. He is author of a textbook on object-oriented programming and co-founder and steering committee member of the international workshop series "Formal Techniques for Java-like Programs". He serves as an expert for the German National Science Foundation and the Dutch National Science Foundation. His professional services include several positions in the German Informatics Association (GI) and participation in a number of program committees as member and chair. He is a member of the IFIP working group 2.4 "Software Implementation Technology". Recently, he was a partner of the EU funded projects on "Easy Composition in Future Generation Component Systems" and "Tool-assisted Specification and Verification of JavaCard Programs".
