Dr. Raimund Wegener

Raimund Wegener is head of the department Transport Processes at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Techno- und Wirtschaftmathematik (ITWM) in Kaiserslautern. Together with his group he is mainly interested in the mathematical modelling of complex industrial problems and the development of efficient algorithms for their numerical solution. This work covers the fields fluid-structure interaction, continuum mechanical product and process design, grid-free methods, radiative transfer and kinetics. His scientific publications are focussed on the foundation and application of kinetic theories as well as on the dynamics of fibers.
